This course provides an introduction to the business models, and technologies of ecommerce. Its goal is to relate business and technology issues, that is, not only what technology is used in ecommerce, but how does it create value. It will discuss business models, the underlying technologies, and introduce you to current research questions. Particular emphasis is given to the role of web services and software agents in nextgen ecommerce systems.
